This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position. For the 2022-2023 academic year, the University has implemented a pilot program allowing employees to work either a compressed 4-day work week with extended workdays or may work from home one day a week. Brief Job Overview/Summary

The Stockton University Biology Program seeks to fill a one year, non-tenure track position (NTTP) for a Teaching Specialist in the area of Microbiology beginning September 2023. Teaching responsibilities will include a microbiology course taken by biology and health science majors (lecture and laboratory). Other teaching responsibilities may involve contributing to teaching introductory biology and/or genetics (lectures and/or labs), teaching in the University's interdisciplinary general studies curriculum, and/or offering an upper-level course in the candidate's area of expertise. The successful candidate must demonstrate a dedication to excellent teaching and service appropriate for a primarily undergraduate institution. Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Teaching load is 32 teaching credit hours per academic year with lectures carrying 4 credit hours and laboratories 2 credit hours
• Excellence in teaching and service are expected
• Participate in service to the university, community, and/or profession
• Support Stockton University's diversity commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission
• Serve as an advisor to undergraduate students

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D.
• Experience teaching microbiology in lecture and lab settings

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Training in microbiology
• Ability to teach lectures and labs in microbiology
• Ability to teach other biology courses (e.g., genetics, introductory biology, upper-level courses) and/or general studies
